When we promote someone, hire a new customer service representative, trainer or supervisor, we assume they know how to lead a team, create stellar training, navigate a team through change, deal with employee issues etc. Frequently, we are disappointed because they are not performing as expected...or we may actually send them to a training and still nothing changes...we failed the employee and the employee failed us...

This is a typical situation for 80% of organizations and has fatal results in ensuring employee engagement, productivity, retention and organizational innovation.

Our Solution

Mentoring is a fusion of training and consultancy and is most effectively used after completion of formal training and before the individual has much experience with the new skill or behavior.

We teach by example, helping individuals to achieve a task that is new to them. Sometimes we lead by example, demonstrating the skills in a practical manner by performing real work as the individuals observe and learn. Sometimes we act as a partner; asking questions, helping where needed and building confidence. On other occasions, we may act as a coach, encouraging individuals to improve their performance and intervening only when needed.

Mentoring assignments are typically short (two months or less) until the individual has the confidence to perform alone.
